Ari Fleischer a modern day Moses leading the Jews out of Democratic Party bondage

Webutante (pictured above) writes about attending a recent gathering sponsored by the Republican Jewish Coalition, with guest speaker Ari Fleischer – former White House Press Secretary and now involved with FreedomsWatch.org

Ari Fleischer:

… In my business, it’s all about making inroads … No doubt about it, getting the Jewish vote out of the Democratic party and into the Republicans is a slow steady inroad we’re making every year, every election. And we’ve only just begun.

… We’re finally understanding the real threat that Islamic extremism represents to the United States, Israel and the rest of the free world.

There’s no such thing as peace without 100% strength.

Webutante:

Fleischer recalled the United States’ first wars against Islamic fundamentalism, The Barbary Wars, in the early 1800’s when then President Thomas Jefferson refused to continue paying bribes to Muslim pirates in the Mediterranean.

Both the George Washington and John Adams Administrations had made bribery payments from the U.S. Treasury in hopes that our ships would not be attacked, robbed and destroyed off the coast of Tripoli. But to no avail.

Ari Fleischer:

Jefferson said no more to Islamic bribery after repeated attacks on our ships and declared war, sent in the Marines and won that war, just like President Bush after 9-11.

Strength is the only thing the terrorists will ever understand.

One of the most profound moments I remember in the White House was when President Bush asked Eli Wiesel if he thought America should remove Saddam Hussein from Iraq.

Mr. Vizel was adamant that the West could have averted World War II and saved millions of lives, if only it had taken Hitler seriously early on, rather than trying to appease him.

I strongly believe our country and the world is a great deal better off because Saddam and his sons are now gone. We didn’t find WMDs as we had expected, but that in no way diminishes the importance of what we’ve done and will continue to do in Iraq. The world is a safer place because America and Israel have acted.

… George Bush is without a doubt the best friend Israel and the Jews have ever had.

    Incorrect.

  3. Israel does not kill your children , – you do. Israel has long been willing to negotiate palestinian sovereignty, yet the palestinians and their arab “friends” seem to always be dissatisfied, and manage to disrupt the process. It has become very clear to me that a sovereign palestine is a useless appendix, a three legged dog to its arab neighbors. Try to launch a kassam from a sovereign palestinian state, – a clear act of war against another nation. It would allow Israel to retaliate with full force, but as an “occupied” territory they can whine and wait for the world community to wipe their nose. I’m all for sovereign palestine. Let them produce their own electricity, buy gasoline and purify their own water. Let them feed their people and most importantly answer in full for their actions.

    • Hey man, sorry but you are all wrong. I am an outsider, so I am objective.

The main reason why Hamas became so important in Palestine is that Israel refused to go through the recognition of a Palestinian State.

Moreover, the “terrorist” attacks to me look like a patriotic response to the war and occupation that Israel is inflicting to Palestine, just like those that many European states made before obtaining Independence. Look at the numbers of the deaths from both sides: the Palestinian number of deaths is much higher. You guys are making a genocide, is it possible that you don’t realize that??

Also, look at the settlements that Israel is expanding in the West Bank..you are stealing Palestinian land day after day. What reaction do you expect? If Israel wants peace, it shall make the first steps and recognize the Palestinians human rights. Otherwise, you guys can kill all the Palestinians, so you get rid of the problem..just like Hitler wanted to do with you.. at least later you’ll stop bothering the whole world with the Olocaust tales.

Yes, you certainly come across as a fair minded, caring, objective fellow.

What are your view on inter-Palestinian killings?

Blame Israel and the Jews for that too?

What sort of society does Hamas say they want to set up in the region? Do you know? Do you agree with their “vision”?

    Well reasoned.

  5. When Israel takes action to defend itself, the world cries but are silent when rockets are hitting israel on a daily basis. What israel is doing now should have been done long time ago to teach those palestinians that the jewish state has all rights to exist. I support Israel in all her efforts to safeguard the lives and property of its citizens. Any Israel always prevail

  6. The terrorists are those who commit the most terror, i.e. those who kill the most innocent people. The facts indicate that it would be Israel.

    • Tom,

      Do you distinguish between:

The deliberate targeting and killing of a maximum number of civilians as a matter of policy?

      versus

Military strikes against armed aggressors conducted under a policy of minimizing civilian deaths?

I believe these are significantly different approaches, and that only the first example qualifies as terrorism.

If Israel was setting out to deliberately target civilians and to maximize their death toll, then it might be correct to refer to it as an agent of terrorism.

However, I don’t see that this is Israel’s way of working.

I note also that the areas controlled by Hamas are not governed in a democratic or pluralistic manner.

Since you seem to be concerned about human rights, are you concerned about this issue?

And are you concerned about the inter-Palestinian killings that are going on?

I hope you are. I certainly am.

  7. Incorrect Tom, but nice try.

The Hamas militants hiding amongst innocent civilian populations during times of war are the terrorists, in effect holding their own people hostage. This is a common Arab and Palestinian tactic used to generate “sympathy”, apparently they were successful in planting a seed in the soil of your mind.

    • Thanks Jason.

I agree that the use of fellow citizens as human shields is disgusting, but I don’t know if it can be rightly termed “terrorism” as such.

      Perhaps it’s something even worse?

Perhaps it’s an act which those inclined to terrorism can stoop to which makes them even more barbaric than they already are?

  8. For anybody who complains about the way the Palestinians fight Israel I have the following suggestion.

Give the Palestinians the same weapon systems the Israelis have. Then they can fight each other on an even level and we can apply the same moral standards for each of them. Any other scenario is just BS.

Israel has all the weapons possible including F16s and possible nuclear weapon. The Palestinians have ?????

Sure Israel will win any battle …but they are still nothing more then a bully. I don’t understand why we, the USA, think they are our friends?

    • A bigger problem than “the way the Palestinians fight Israel” is the way they fight each other. What is your view on that? What is your view of the “moral standards” of intra-Palestinian violence?

What kind of social/political system do the Palestinians want to institute? Is it one founded on respect for individual rights? Limited, constitutional government? Freedom of expression? Freedom of assembly? Tolerance and pluralism? I don’t believe it is.

I don’t see any evidence of any such model – neither in their documents, nor their actions. Do you?

Amongst the Palestinian people there are, I’m sure, many, many individuals who wish to pursue free, creative lives – free of the internal strife, killing, violence, and intimidation.

The primary source of this tragic state of affairs is not Israel.

Do you care about the large numbers of innocent Palestinians murdered and terrorized by the political factions within the Palestinian Authority?
